Hello Folks,
Our mail situation seems to be messed up as usual so if these letters I write take a good while to get there you’ll have to understand. Since these Vmails are furnished for us, it saves us the worry of carrying stationary so I hope you don’t mind getting them. I’m well and happy as can be expected. I think I’ll try to give you a little information about packages. If you have sent the wristlets and helmet by first class mail it should be here before long and I’m glad of that. I’d like the pocket knife I asked for to be sent in a similar manner and also a good tough watch strap. You’ll have to keep in mind that the packages that are sent regular mail take a long time to get here that anything important should not be sent that way. Too many things can happen in four or five months. Since we don’t even have our duffle bags now, we must carry in our pockets anything we get. So we must either put what we get to immediate personal use or eat it up. Anything to eat that would add alittle variety to those plain overseas rations would be greatly appreciated. I have a few suggestions to give you before long. God be with you all.
